In Memory of Ronald J. Pennella, Former Faculty Advisor:
It is with profound sadness that the NYU Tandon School of Engineering announces the passing of Adjunct Professor Ron Pennella, a valued colleague and friend. Ron joined the faculty in 2005 and contributed significantly to the BS in Construction Management program, teaching both the first-year course, Leadership and Foundations in Construction Management, and the senior course, Construction Project Administration. His role as an ambassador for the construction industry was unmatched, making it fitting that our students were introduced to him early in their studies and again as they prepared to enter the workforce. Along the way, Ron facilitated invaluable connections, whether through Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) events, site visits to major New York projects he led, such as the restoration of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, or at alumni gatherings. In recent years, he also served as the primary instructor and coach for the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Associated Schools of Construction competition team.
Ron dedicated himself fully to everything he undertook, and his influence will continue to shape the future of the industry through the students and professionals he mentored over the past eighteen years. His absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy will endure.
