Matthew Frenkel is the NYU Engineering Librarian as well as an Associated Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Before joining NYU he studied the physics of optical whispering gallery resonators and their applications in thermal sensing, as well as worked in the advanced microscopy lab at the American Museum of Natural History.

In his current role at NYU Matthew focuses on supporting Engineering faculty and students with their information needs.  He also teaches several courses for the mechanical engineering department including fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and automatic control theory.
