Brian Laung Aoaeh teaches Operations Management in the Department of Technology Management and Innovation.
He is the Co-founder of REFASHIOND Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund that is being built to invest in startups creating innovations to refashion global supply chain networks. He is also the Founder of The Worldwide Supply Chain Federation (The New York Supply Chain Meetup) - the world's first network of grassroots-driven communities for people who are obsessively enthusiastic about supply chain, innovation, and technology.
Brian writes about the reinvention of global supply chains, from the perspective of an early-stage technology venture capitalist as a market expert at FreightWaves.
His background covers the gamut from scientific research, data and statistical analysis, corporate development and investing for a single-family office, and then building an early-stage venture fund from scratch - immediately prior to beginning the process of building REFASHIOND Ventures.
Brian holds an MBA in General Management, with a specialization in Financial Instruments and Markets, from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree, with a double major in Mathematics & Physics, from Connecticut College. He is a charter holding member of the CFA Institute.
Brian has a particular interest in software innovations with applications in supply chain management, supply chain logistics, and supply chain finance. His interests also cover innovations in advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, data and analytics, and cybersecurity.
He believes the climate crisis cannot be solved without refashioning man-made supply chains, and that the transformation of global supply chains is the biggest investment opportunity of our lifetime. He coined the phrase "The world is a supply chain.™" to encapsulate that idea.
He maintains a personal blog at Innovation Footprints.
