Open source AI is leading to breakthroughs in healthcare, education and entrepreneurship
Through Meta's open source Llama AI model, developers worldwide are creating innovative solutions across healthcare, education, and agriculture. At AIIRA (AI Institute for Resilient Agriculture), researchers are developing tools to help farmers with crop improvement and pest control. "Open source AI's ability to deploy at scale is transformative. It works in the United States, it can work in Africa, in India, across the globe," said Associate Professor Chinmay Hegde, who works on AIIRA's project to generate personalized recommendations for farmers addressing pests and weeds.
