Mapping the 'super speeders' of New York City

Recently published data from NYU Tandon transportation researcher and CUSP Faculty Fellow Marcel Moran, reveals that “super speeders,” or drivers who clock over 100 infractions for going 10 miles per hour or more above the speed limit, represent a growing share of “repeat offenders” among the  tickets issued by the New York City’s  network of automated traffic enforcement devices. “A well-designed system would show the opposite: A driver gets a ticket and then doesn’t get it again,” said Moran, “So I think that New York has succeeded in one of its objectives. But the other piece is, ‘What do we do about the extremes?’”
