Extreme heat impacting infrastructure
Professor Masoud Ghandehari discussed the impact of extreme heat on infrastructure. “One of the issues is that the infrastructure is aging and some of the tolerances that you would want when you’re experiencing extreme heat are not good enough for serviceability of the infrastructure…my expectation is that you will see more and more issues with the critical infrastructure, not only with bridges but also with rails, power lines.”
