May Graduation Application Deadline (Registrar's Office)

Mid-March

Attire Orders begin:

• Academic attire is required for all candidates and graduates attending Commencement.
• A full academic attire set consists of a gown, tassel, cap (mortarboard for bachelor’s and master’s, or a tam for doctoral degrees), and hood (only for master’s and doctoral degrees).
• Items will be available for individual purchase and may be shipped.

Mid-March

Ticket Orders begin for:

Tandon Commencement Ceremony 

• All members of the Class of 2025 (September 2024 and January 2025 graduates, and May 2025 and August 2025 candidates) must complete the MarchingOrder ticket registration process to attend the Tandon Commencement Ceremony. In early May, all ceremony registrants will receive a GradPass, which will be their ticket to enter the Barclays Center.
• Candidates/graduates will also be able to request up to four (4) guest tickets for admission into the venue.
• At the end of the ceremony registration period, students may enter a lottery for extra guest tickets. The availability of extra tickets is not guaranteed.

Mid-March

Ticket Orders begin for:

All-University Commencement Ceremony (May 15)

NOTE: NYU strictly prohibits the direct or indirect sale or auction of Commencement tickets. Students engaging in the advertising, promotion (including contests, giveaways or sweepstakes) or other trade or commercial sale of Commencement tickets will be subject to NYU disciplinary sanctions, including without limitation the delayed issuance of a degree or diploma.

March 12 - April 8

Graduate Portraits in Brooklyn

• In addition to the opportunities that will be hosted at Washington Square in Spring 2025, a limited number of graduate portrait sessions will take place at the Brooklyn Campus in late-March and early-April.
• Instructions for booking a session in Brooklyn will be emailed to candidates/graduates in Spring 2025.

NOTE: Graduate portrait sessions are offered to candidates/graduates on a first-come, first-served basis. The purchase of any photos taken at these sessions are subject to additional fees.

NYU Tandon Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony

• NYU Tandon will host a hooding ceremony to celebrate the achievements of all 2025 Tandon doctoral degree recipients.
• Ceremony information and RSVP details will be sent to all eligible Ph.D. candidates in Spring 2025.
