NYU Tandon School of Engineering is committed to identifying and implementing strategies to support and educate doctoral students who emerge as leaders in their professions.

To enhance the development of doctoral students, we have implemented activities and programs that target their mentorship, leadership, and teamwork skills, among others.


Expand Your Degree with a Digital Badge

We offer a professional development badge, which is a credential you can earn alongside your PhD studies. This is a competency-based, small-scale learning credential designed to amplify your learning experience while verifying your skill attainment for future employers. Our badge enables you to instantly stand out in a competitive marketplace for expertise that builds on your degree.

Digital Badge

To earn a badge, you must successfully complete 4 tracks. This requires attending all sessions and fulfilling 70% or more of a track’s deliverables on a pass/fail basis to earn the credential.

In today’s rapidly evolving academic landscape, digital literacy is an essential skill for PhD students. In this workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of how to conduct ethical research, and learn best practices in data management, open science, communication and publications, and building a scholarly profile.
